Vocations

The Vocation Ministry was formed at St. Matthew Church to pray, support and promote awareness to young men and women considering entering the religious life.

The ministry is working to establish priestly vocations in a variety of ways, including through a “Vocation Chalice” devotion. The consecrated chalice is used to focus on and provide an awareness of prayer in the home for vocations to the priesthood, the permanent diaconate and the religious life.

Each week during one of the Sunday Masses, the celebrant will call a family to receive the Chalice. The family will receive a blessing with instructions to place the Chalice in a place of honor in the family home.

The Vocations Ministry will begin meetings in September at the MCB. Please consider volunteering your time to help build St. Matthew’s Vocation Awareness program by joining this ministry. You can call Deacon Andy at 561-722-1564 or Jean Waddington at 561-389-3692.
