Youth Ministry at Saint Matthew Catholic Church is the pastoral response of the entire faith community to the developmental and spiritual needs of the middle and high school teens of our Parish, consistent with our parish goals and direction. As such, Youth Ministry empowers teens to live as disciples of Christ in our world today, and fosters the personal and spiritual growth of the youth of the Parish.
The goal of our Youth Ministry Program is to:
- Lead youth closer to Christ.
- Evangelize the Gospel message.
- Provide opportunities for the youth of the Parish to become involved in the life, mission and work of the Church.
The eight components of our Youth Ministry Program are:
- Advocacy
- Catechesis
- Community Life
- Evangelization
- Social Justice
- Leadership Development
- Pastoral Care
- Prayer and Worship
Among the programs offered by our Youth Ministry are:
- Character Development
- Ministry of Hospitality
- Stations of the Cross for Teens
- Annual Easter Egg Hunt
- Family Nights
- Christmas Caroling
- Sports Programs such as Bowling and Golf
- Parents’ Night Out
- Movie Nights
- Ice Cream Socials and Pizza Parties
- “Souper” Bowl of Caring Service Project
All middle and high school youth of the Parish are invited to come see what it means to be “church” to one another in a Ministry that is welcoming and inviting!
